For the viewers it is not just a mere television series, it is a roller coaster of emotions full of heartbreaks, empowerment, the feeling of being overwhelmed, as well as experiencing extreme happiness. The Bold Type can be your friend as well as your foe. The Magazine “Scarlet” based in New York has provided its readers as well as its viewers with a feeling of confiding into a big sister one never had. The series has taught us some brilliant life lessons, and here's why:

1. It's okay to be a hot mess:

From Kat Edison, the head of social media director. juggling with her relationship and having sex dreams of a friend to Sutton Brady, stealing sandwiches from the workplace to make things right. To Jane, writing about ‘How to Stalk your Unstalkable Ex’. We have all been there. Each week, each day is an effort to pick yourself up. You hit rock bottom and then you rise once again. Life is a bit messy, however, you’re your beautiful train wreck.

2. One..two..three...FASHION!

When it comes to fashion, our characters own the stage. In a fashion magazine like Scarlet, one wishes to be presentable but authentic at the same time. And who can do it better than our very own stylist Miss Sutton Brady a.k.a the upcoming stylist? Whether it is styling a cute dress or coming to wearing sweats, it can give you a sense of power in doing something you’re passionate about. It’s your idea of power dressing. So go rock that interview, make amazing pitches to your boss, style that client you always wanted!

3. You can’t sit with us

It’s the very own Scarlet “Fashion Closet”. Nobody knew that something as fascinating as a fashion closet can give them a sense of comfort. And in the case of our co-stars, that’s the place where Jane Sloan, Sutton Brady, and Kat Edison first encountered. It’s the place where they solved their issues, made interventions and came up with brilliant solutions to their problems. Whether it be Kat trying to release that Spring Edition to Sutton aiming for that promotion, the fashion closet provided them their secret space where they could go on about and vent their emotions. Think of it like your favorite diary or that particular seat in your favorite cafe. It provides you with a sense of belongingness. The trio gave the lifeless closet filled with different clothes and accessories its meaning of life.

4. You’re the bold type

Shouting together at the subway, leaving that million-dollar necklace at New York cab to getting your boss fired for supporting conversion therapy. The trio has done it all. They broke the ethics for a good cause, worked hard towards their dream, and loved unconditionally. Went beyond racial injustice and homophobia. They stood up for their people and broke the traditional and conventional norms into doing something they loved as well as gave people a new sense of hope. But lastly while doing so, they knew very well that throughout all of their hardships, happiness, and difficulties they had each other's back.

For the men and women of The Bold Type, take that risk! That is what the real essence of the series is all about. Do something that you’ve always wanted to do. Love beyond societal expectations and stand up for what’s right. The world is your oyster and it might lead you to something beautiful.
